The gallbladder is a very small organ. Many people do not even know it exists, but it is an indispensable element in our body: it stores bile and helps us perform digestion. It should be noted that it often causes more problems for women, so it is worth knowing the main symptoms of a disease in the gallbladder. Would you like to meet them?
What is the function of the gallbladder?
• It is pear shaped and is a tiny organ, located on the right side of our stomach, and just below the liver. It is a kind of sachet where bile is stored precisely from the liver, and also has a conduit that allows it to flow into the small intestine of the digestive tract.
• This bile that stores the gallbladder is also indispensable to help us indigestion, acting as an emulsifier of fats. That is, it allows us to digest and burn them.
• It is common for diseases of this organ to affect especially women who, for example, have a weight problem, or who suffer some gastrointestinal dysfunction, in addition to a high cholesterol level. We must keep this in mind.
• Another aspect to take into account are, obviously, gallstones, major disease of the gallbladder in addition to infections.
Symptoms of gallbladder disease
1. Swelling and gas
As we already know the vesicle is associated with our digestions. When there is some type of problem and it does not properly channel the bile, or it is inflamed or even obstructed, it is usual that we start to feel that our digestions are heavier, we feel swollen and heavier.
Gas and burping are very common. To make it truly meaningful, these symptoms should be kept frequently every day. It is normal to feel bad about an isolated day, even two. But when you go ten days in a row and see your abdomen still swollen and hardened, it’s worth talking to your doctor.
2. Nausea and dizziness
Think about how you feel in the middle of the afternoon, especially after two hours of having your lunch or the main meal of the day. It is the time when our digestion must have ended. If you notice weakness, nausea and dizziness, then it is best that you sit down and put your hand on your abdomen. Is it hard? Do you belch easily?
If in addition to the bad digestions notes as every day you get dizziness and nausea we are likely to have a problem in our gallbladder.
3. Punctual pains in the back, abdomen and right arm
It is very characteristic. A heaviness in the abdomen, and a pain that extends both on the right side of the back and on the arm on the same side. We must remember that the gallbladder is located on the right side of the abdomen and next to the liver. If it becomes inflamed, that whole area is going to be affected, and the pain is very particular. Keep in mind, for example, that sometimes pain can start suddenly and in the form of an attack if it were for example a gallstone. An intense pain that can last 15 minutes, then disappears and reappears, a situation that can take up to 15 hours. Pain may be worse with breathing.
If our biliary disease is very advanced, and we have several calculations, the pain can be truly atrocious, even affecting our shoulder blades.
4. Pay attention to your urine and your feces
We know it is not pleasant to pay attention to our intimacies when we are in the bathroom, but we assure you that it is imperative to observe the tonality of the urine to warn of possible diseases. If the urine is very white, and the stools are very gray, without too much color and somewhat loose, then it is associated with a problem of the gallbladder, due precisely to a low level of bile.
It is also common for people with problems in the gallbladder to suffer numerous episodes of diarrhea. We must keep this in mind.
5. Bad breath and fever
If you notice that you have begun to feel an uneasiness in your mouth, a strange taste and an unpleasant breath from which you can not detach, take note of how long it lasts. Has it been just a day or two? Then no problem. But if they are already 10 days in a row then talk to your doctor, especially if when you wake up in the morning, you have noticed that you have a few tenths of fever. Fever is usually in the morning and late afternoon. It is enough that you have two or tenths so that you have to put it in evidence of your doctor.
Have you noticed that the tone of your skin has become a bit yellowish? Or that your eyes have suddenly acquired this hue? Then do not hesitate. See your doctor. This is jaundice, and is basically due to some gallstones blocking the bile duct, causing the bile to return to the liver, and from there to the bloodstream. It is a serious issue and we must take it into account for our health. Do not neglect!
