1. Sodium benzoate
Sodium benzoate is one of the great toxic ingredients. It is a known carcinogenic additive that when eaten or applied to the skin, is transported to the liver, where it is supposed to be filtered and expelled in the urine, but the damage is done before the process is completed.
Sodium benzoate drowns nutrients from your body at the cellular DNA level by depriving mitochondria of oxygen cells, sometimes completely closing them. Just as humans need oxygen to breathe, cells need oxygen to function properly and to fight off infections, including cancer.
The FDA says it is safe because the amount used to conserve food is very low, but do not plan to combine it with vitamin C or E, as this causes the benzoate to form. This is dangerous.
Never mix vitamin C with processed foods such as pickles, peppers, salad dressings, jams, most condiments, fruit juices, sauces, grated cheese, tomato sauce, diet soda or regular. Do not forget mouthwashes, toothpaste, cough syrup, creams, lotion, hundreds of cosmetic products and even on foods labeled “natural.”
But why is this ingredient in the food? It is the cheapest mold inhibitor on the market. Acidic foods tend to grow bacteria, mold and yeast more easily than non-acidic foods, so the sodium benzoate extends shelf life while shortening human life.
2. Canola oil
This artificial oil is super popular and is found in more than 30% of all products. Canola oil is actually rapeseed oil and can cause emphysema and respiratory distress, eventually leading to cancer.
Canola oil is bad because it is a fragile, heat sensitive oil that has undergone a process of excess heat and pressure and other chemicals. It contains a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids that undergo internal molecular reaction at high temperatures, particularly in combination with iron and oxygen, as in a frying pan, or when cooking prefabricated foods in a factory, such as spaghetti sauce. You end up with molecules in the body that just can not stand.
The process in question is called lipid peroxidation. Lipid peroxidation is the reason why Penn State nutrition professor Kris-Etherton advises against cooking canola oil at high temperatures for long periods of time. So before emptying the canola oil into the frying pan to fry your potatoes, remember that it belongs to one of the toxic ingredients of the food industry.
3. Monosodium glutamate (GMS)
The FDA allows 20 “pseudo” names for monosodium glutamate, including yeast extract, free glutamate, glutamic acid, soy lecithin, calcium caseinate, hydrolyzed corn, hydrolyzed soy protein, and maltodextrin to name a few. But the fact that a product says “No GMS” or “No MSG” does not mean it is not there.
MSG comes in many processed food and snacks from the food industry. Oils similar to high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated, consumers should be in the habit of looking for whether it contains monosodium glutamate. MSG does not occur naturally in whole foods, so you do not have to worry about apples or bananas. Manufacturers are required to state on their label whether MSG is included in their products.
Unfortunately, it could fall under different titles already mentioned above, so it is very difficult to keep up with the foods that contain the additive. 4. Sodium nitrate (nitrosamines)
It is used for fertilizers and explosives, and as a solvent in the dry cleaning industry. Sodium nitrate keeps the molecules of hemoglobin in the blood to carry oxygen to the tissues of your body. It is considered a “super salt” (like monosodium glutamate) that is added to foods such as sausages, sausages and bacon to increase shelf life, color and taste. 7. Anti-caking agents

8. Artificial dyes
Artificial dyes are toxic ingredients in the food industry that you have used for decades. From those chocolates that float in your bowl of milk with vivid orange colors, to the most common household foods containing ingredients such as Red # 40 (the most consumed artificial colorant) and yellow # 5.
However, the dangers of artificial colorings are often a problem in food safety, and many claim that being toxic ingredients have been a factor in increasing ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity) in recent years. Interestingly, many natural colors previously used for colored foods contain toxins such as mercury, and that is why in the last century, companies began to create synthetic solutions to replace harmful natural dyes. Carrageenan, polysorbate 80 and brominated vegetable oil (BVO). Normally these toxic ingredients are found in chocolate milk – and other milks – cottage cheese, ice cream, infant formula, jelly and dressings, among others. BVO has remained in body fat for years. Polysorbate 80 is also found in most vaccines.
Emulsifiers are toxic ingredients that are ubiquitous in food products because they help immiscible ingredients to be mixed. But in a recent experiment, it was determined that these ingredients can be responsible for the accumulation of fat in the body.
The two tested chemicals were Polysorbate-80 and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), both of which are in a category that the FDA regards as “safe”. The study, published in the journal Nature, also linked these additives to the so-called metabolic syndrome – a syndrome linked to symptoms including obesity, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
This study was done for several reasons; firstly, people have been getting fatter over the last 50 years and scientists are studying different ways in which the environment has changed. Second, some emulsifiers are known to act as detergents and were suspected of disturbing the mucous membranes that separate friendly bacteria from the intestinal walls. What was found was that these tested chemicals actually caused “bacterial invasion” behind the mucosal barrier that must separate them from the intestinal walls.
10. Artificial sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners contain various toxic ingredients such as aspartame, acesulfame K, sucralose, sorbitol, truvia, and of course saccharin. Because of their sweet taste, these chemical sweeteners cheat the body and produce addiction for long periods of time, becoming rancid in body fat.
